Creating SANAV™

  • Nezmar Capital was a pioneer of the concept of strategically-adjusted net asset value ("SANAV"), absent from the internet and literature as of 2025.

  • SANAV™ is a multi-dimensional analytical framework to inform board decision-making as to the acquisition or disposal of assets or divisions.

  • SANAV™ is typically 3D: commercial (real-economy–level, especially industrial utility); financial (capital-markets–level, especially bankability); strategic (cost–benefit-level, capturing incremental M&A value).

  • SANAV™ inputs range from identifiable cashflows allocated to the asset or division; through discretionary benchmarks such as cost of capital; to idiosyncratic estimates such as anticipated portfolio contributions.

  • The SANAV™ output provides a concrete (albeit suitably caveated and range-bound) present-value calculation enabling decision-making in respect of the SANAV computed as net-positive or -negative.

  • This multi-disciplinary framework integrates financial and non-financial risk–reward, drawing on defensive functions (such as finance and legal) and expansive functions (such as sales and corporate development).
